Finally, note that file size is not the only factor in deciding between buffered and unbuffered. Maybe you have some native English friends or colleagues?īut in general I should expect the 32bit version to work fine with your system. Copying a bunch of files that were just changed Buffered should be faster. Should it turn out that your system uses the 32bit version in the \system32 folder by default, I could provide you with an English executable. This way you would leave your system as is. If you find a problem in replacing the file, consider using this tool: Īn alternative would be to create a separate folder, like c:\myexe, place the new robocopy in there, and then call the program with full path. The versions in the "Winsxs" folder are alternatives that may be required by older or third-party software so as long as you run robocopy yourself, not via another program, you can ignore those.

Anyway, I just thought Id share my experience with them because of the unusual nature of my really large directory. To find out which robocopy your system uses by default, download and run Process Explorer ( ), then start a robocopy file transfer that will take 2 or 3 minutes. ROBOCOPY handles the copy without issue and is a much nicer experience when copying in that it offers better progress indicators.
